IBEW Local 490 represents electricians and telecommunications workers committed to fair wages, safe workplaces, and a strong future.
Founded in 1891, the IBEW grew out of dangerous conditions where half of all electricians were killed on the job. Today, it is the largest electrical union in the world—built on solidarity, respect, and opportunity.
Local 490 carries that legacy forward by providing top-tier training, family-sustaining pay, strong healthcare and pensions, and the highest standard of living in the industry.
